BIRMINGHAM
CITY COUNCIL SECURITY VIDEO
Birmingham
City Council's Urban Care Department are running a campaign to
encourage householders in the inner city to make their homes more
secure against burglary.
THE
CAMPAIGN
Part of the campaign is to use video to show the best ways to
go about putting in items such as window and better door locks,
as well as to help educate people in how to deal with the growing
problem of distraction burglaries.
COLOUR
LEAFLET
A number of companies were invited to tender for the video and
Vision Associates was selected to make it. We were also commissioned
to design print a colour leaflet to go with the video.
IN-HOUSE
CAPACITY
The contract to make the video, together with suplying 500 VHS
copies of it, was awarded to us because we were able to demonstrate
our capacity to handle all of the work in-house.
PRODUCTION
TEAMWORK
To make the video, we teamed up with an associate to research
and direct the production. Silk Screen, comprises two very experienced
ex-BBC producers, Stephanie Silk and Andy Meikle, who have a distinguished
background in broadcast television. Stephanie produced Gardener's
World, Pebble MIll at One, as well as Delia's How to Cook series
and Can't Cook, Won't Cook. Andy produced On the House, Top Gear,
and the pets programme, One of the Family.
OUR
ASSOCIATES
The close association with Silk Screen demonstrates the way in
which we are able to call upon very experienced talents to produce
a wide range of videos. Our associate teams include scriptwriters,
directors, speciality drama cameramen, sound recordists, web designers,
conference organisers, and colour printers. The ability to cover
every aspect required for a production is the great strength which
lies behind a Vision Associates production.
